The Recreation Department maintains and operates two Community Centres in the Township, the Embro West Zorra Community Centre and the Thamesford & District Community Centre.

Embro West Zorra Community Centre

This facility includes an arena with an 85’ x 185’ ice/floor surface with seating to accommodate 600 people.  The arena is available for public rentals and is an ideal location for special events.

This facility also offers a Community Hall that is available for rental to the public year-round and is an ideal location for wedding receptions, dances and other special events. The hall includes a completely serviceable bar and kitchen, is air-conditioned and a portable stage is available on site.

Thamesford & District Recreation Centre

This facility includes an arena with an 85’ x 185’ ice/floor surface with seating to accommodate 350 people. Ice time and floor time are available for public rental.  The Community Hall in the Community Centre is also available for public rental and special events.  The Hall is fully functional, air conditioned, and includes an auditorium with a stage.  The Kitchen is fully equipped with all required table setting pieces, as well as a bar.  The Hall is also equipped with enough tables and chairs to accommodate up to 225 people for a sit down dinner and up to 300 people when a sit down meal is no required.

The Community Centre also has a Board Room which is ideal for small meetings.  This room is offered at a reasonable cost to profitable organizations and is available free of charge to registered non-profit agencies.
