The Township of Zorra and the County of Oxford have initiated a review of policies and provisions related to Aggregate Extraction (Sand and Gravel Pits and Quarries).  As part of this review, a Public Open House was held on April 14, 2015. Two surveys were made available for residents and operators of Oxford County to comment on the Aggregate Policy Review.  The survey period has now ended.  View the survey results here.  For more information, please contact Gord Hough at 519-539-9800 ext 3207 or by email.

At the January 13, 2015 meeting of the Council of the Township of Zorra, By-law 05-15 was passed "being a by-law to establish interim control provisions for the Township of Zorra to prohibit new or expanded mineral aggregate operations and new concrete and asphalt recycling plants for a period of one year in order to permit the completion of a Planning Review of the related existing Official Plan Policies and Zoning Provisions.  Read the entire by-law here.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Zorra has adopted an Interim Control By-law 2015-05, under Zoning By-law 35-99, as amended, on the 13th day of January, 2015, in accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Planning Act, 1990., c.
