As of January 1, 2015, it is illegal to:
- smoke on and around children’s playgrounds and publicly owned sport fields and surfaces (e.g., areas for basketball, baseball, soccer or beach volleyball, ice rinks, tennis courts, splash pads and swimming pools that are owned by a municipality, the province or a post secondary education institution)
- smoke on all bar and restaurant patios, whether covered or not (with an exemption for uncovered patios established by the Royal Canadian Legion – Ontario Provincial Command before November 18, 2013)
- sell tobacco on university and college campuses (this applies to buildings that are owned and areas that are leased by a post secondary institution or student union)

Aggregate Policy Review
The Township of Zorra and the County of Oxford have initiated a review of policies and provisions related to Aggregate Extraction (Sand and Gravel Pits and Quarries). As part of this review, a Public Open House was held on April 14, 2015. View all information here . OPP Initiative - Citizen Self Reporting
Did you know? The OPP have launched an internet reporting tool that provides members of the public with the option of reporting minor incidents to police by completing an online report on their computer or mobile device. The OPP is pleased to announce the expansion of the citizen self-reporting program and the new capacity to receive emergency calls for service via Text with 911 (T9-1-1) from people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired (DHHSI) and for which the OPP is the Primary Public Safety Answering Point (P-PSAP). Lessif Family Endowment Fund

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Zorra has adopted an Interim Control By-law 2015-05, under Zoning By-law 35-99, as amended, on the 13th day of January, 2015, in accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Planning Act, 1990., c.
