Volunteer Breakfast

The photo was taken by Laura Green, and ran in the Journal Argus Weekender with the following:
"Red & white was the colour scheme for a Canada 150-themed event hosted by the Township of Zorra on Friday, October 20th at the Embro Community Centre. Volunteers and seniors were treated to an Appreciation Breakfast catered by “Eat Your Heart Out” from Thamesford. Township Clerk Karen Martin is pictured serving a county style breakfast to volunteers John & Thelma Hiuser - who wear many volunteer hats in the community. You may recognize John as the blacksmith from the Harrington 150 Heritage celebration on August 12th, or the minister from the video contest at the Embro Fair. Eighty people enjoyed the morning of fellowship and a delicious breakfast.

Open Air Burn Permit Process

The Township has introduced a Permanent Fire Permit process for open air burning.  This process involves a one-time application which will reduce the effort required to set up permission for an open air burn.  All applications will be reviewed by the Fire Chief and upon approval, the applicant will be able to proceed with open air burns by calling into dispatch directly to report the burn details.  Review application form and conditions for the new permit, then complete your application!  Please note - the process for small recreation burns within a ring or fire pit in backyard has not changed - these types of fires do not require a permit.
